This weekend The Oldies but Goodies will be performing at the Wahconah High School in Dalton, Massachusetts. We will be raising money for an amazing organization called Unico of Pittsfield. Their motto is “Service above Self.” They have been supporting the most vulnerable in Berkshire County since 1987 and we at the oldies show are honored that we can team with them to make a difference.

The Oldies have been performing shows since 2001. I have been fortunate to have been here since the beginning. This is my family. They were there when my wife and I had to travel to Baystate because my middle child was in the NICU. My child made their first appearance on stage in March of 2001 just 3 weeks after their birth. Both my middle child and youngest son grew up watching me on stage with the oldies.
If I am going to be honest, I didn’t think we would last this long. Like most families we had our ups and downs. We have had losses, fights, and separations but still today the Oldies stand strong, and we continue to do the work that matters and that is to help others. The Oldies show is more than one person. We have no headliners. We are a group of people who use our talents to make a difference. It takes a village to make this show happen. If not for the 30 plus people, the amazing organizations like UNICO, schools like Wahconah, and our loyal following there would be no Oldies but Goodies. I believe this show has been blessed. I believe in a higher power, and I believe it is at work supporting the Oldies Show. Reality says we should be done but our faith and belief in what we do keeps us moving forward.
My message today is for my Oldies family. You are all stars. You are all the headliners of this show. I am honored to be able to say I sing and perform with the greatest people ever. Sing and dance your hearts out like you always do. Give the people in Berkshire County 2 hours of laughter and joy in times that have been difficult. We have created something that will help to make change long after this weekend. We have the opportunity to touch lives for generations to come.
UNICO of Pittsfield thank you for allowing us to partner with you to make a difference. Like you we can be the light in a world that can sometimes feel dark. Together we can change our own small part of the world one family at a time.
